McdonaldsRC600The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Early Chamber of Commerce held a joint ribbon cutting on Monday, February 12th for the Grand Reopening for McDonald's in Brownwood.

The Brownwood location was one of 4,000 McDonald's restaurants to get a facelift. The newly remodeled store now includes self-ordering kiosks for customer convenience.

McDonald's of Brownwood is located at 204 E Commerce St.

Brownwood Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting for The Brownwood Jaycees

Jaycees600The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Thursday, January 18th for The Brownwood Jaycees to welcome them as new members.

The Brownwood United States Junior Chamber (JCs or more commonly Jaycees) is a not-for-profit corporation/organization . They are a leadership training and civic organization for people between the ages of 18 and 40. Areas of emphasis are business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections.

The goal of the Brownwood Jaycees is to provide members with opportunities to gain the experience needed to become more effective civic and business leaders and provide an environment where members can meet others with the same ambition.

Brownwood Chamber and SBDC to Offer Workplace Safety Workshop Feb. 1st

WorkplaceSafety FB 1000The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and the America's Small Business Development Center are offering a business workshop regarding workplace safety on February 1st from 11:30 am -1:00 pm at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

Topics covered in this workshop will include learning OSHA required written programs, identifying and eliminating occupational hazards in the workplace, required plans and programs, how to report an injury, top 10 OSHA findings, and much more.

The presentation will be given as part of the Occupational Safety and Health Consultation (OSHCON) program through the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation.

There is no cost for Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce members. Non-member fee is $10. Attendees may bring a lunch.

6th Annual Brownwood Area Bridal Fair to be Held Saturday, January 20th

bridalfairpromopic600The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their 6th annual Brownwood Area Bridal Fair on Saturday, January 20th at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center in Brownwood.

The fair will host a variety of vendors and will be a resource in planning for that special day. Vendors will showcase their products and services and will be available with tips, techniques, and ideas for the perfect special event. Photographers, florists, DJs, party rental, and venues as well as other businesses are just a few of the types of vendors that will be on hand.

The bridal fair provides an opportunity for event planners to meet with businesses, all in one location, to help assist in planning the big day. Door prize drawings will be taking place throughout the day as well, including a grand prize drawing.

The Brownwood Area Bridal Fair will take place from 11 AM - 2 PM on Saturday, January 20th at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center (600 E. Depot Street). Admission to the show is free.

Brownwood and Early Chambers Hold Joint Ribbon Cutting for Gridiron Heroes/Texas Heritage Bowl

GridiornHeroes600The Brownwood and Early Chambers of Commerce held a joint ribbon cutting on Thursday, November 9th for Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Foundation to announce the upcoming Texas Heritage Bowl coming to Brownwood in January.

Gridiron Heroes is a non-profit organization formed in 2003 with a specific mission - to provide immediate, as well as, long term resources and support to individuals sustaining catastrophic spinal cord injury through activities associated with high school football.

Chris Canales was injured by a paralyzing tackle playing high school football at San Marcos Baptist Academy in 2001. After his injury and witnessing other football players sustain spinal cord injuries, Chris and his father Eddie formed Gridiron Heroes.

The Texas Heritage Bowl will be an all-star high school football game hosted in Brownwood's Gordon Wood Stadium on January 6, 2018 and will benefit Gridiron Heroes.
