The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, September 25th for the newly opened Cornerstone Pet Hospital.
Owner Jeff Windham comes to the Brownwood area with over 10 years experience in animal medicine. Cornerstone offers small animal medicine, surgery, vaccinations and boarding/grooming.
Tuesday is National Night Out for Brown County and area residents are getting ready to hold block parties to meet neighbors and local law enforcement.
This year, 60 block parties are scheduled across the county in Brownwood, Early, Bangs, May, Zephyr, Brookesmith, and several rural locations.
Police from Brownwood, Early, and Bangs; area fire departments, Guardian EMS, and other city and county officials will visit these parties taking place Tuesday, October 2nd between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.

The Brownwood Reunion Celebration and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to offer a one-time only special for this year’s Brownwood Reunion main stage concert tickets.
On Thursday, September 6 during the Brownwood Business Showcase event at the Brownwood Coliseum, the three-day passes to the Reunion concerts will be on sale for only $10 each.
The Brownwood Reunion Celebration will take place September 14-16 in Downtown Brownwood. The main stage concerts this year include:
Friday, September 14 – Rick Springfield ; Three Shades Blue opening
Saturday, September 15 – Wade Bowen; Mark Powell & Lariat opening
Sunday, September 16 – Local Christian bands - Brian Potter, Strange Trade, Sun City, and Free For All
The Brownwood Business Showcase event will take place from 10am – 6pm this Thursday with the special offer. Entry fee to the show is $2 per person, but complementary passes to the showcase are available through Wednesday at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce located at 600 E. Depot Street.

This recently opened children’s store offers the Brownwood area clothing and accessories for children from newborn to a size 7. Tiny Tots Trunk also offers nursery and gift items, and welcome shower selections as well.
It is time again for the Annual Business Showcase hosted by the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce. For 17 years, the Brownwood Chamber has provided a venue for local businesses to network with over 1,000 potential clients/customers in one location and ultimately grow their business and the local economy. This year will not be any different; the 18th Annual Business Showcase will feature over 60 local businesses in various lines of trade from banking, insurance and energy to home health services and personal well being.
The show will open at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 6th at the Brownwood Coliseum and will feature well known, established businesses as well as some of the newest in the Brownwood area. Admission is only $2 and complimentary passes are available for a limited time at the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce office. The first 500 visitors will receive a tote bag to hold all of the valuable information you will likely gather throughout your visit!
All visitors to the show will have the opportunity to win booth prizes from each of the exhibitors. Those who participate in the “Bingo” game may enter to win one of the Grand Door Prizes - A Brinkman Grill or patio set!
For the 6th year, the “Taste of Brownwood” – Presented by Sodexo returns to offer the community an opportunity to sample favorite recipes from local restaurants, caterers and bakeries. From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, showcase visitors can visit restaurant row and sample tasty treats from local restaurants. Taste of Brownwood sample tickets are $2 for your first 4 tickets and $1 each for additional tickets after that. Taste of Brownwood is not included with complementary passes.

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 2nd for Simply Stuff.
This recently opened indoor flea market and thrift store offers the Brownwood area a one-stop shop for antiques, books, dolls, furniture, signs, jewelry and more. Vendor spaces are available for rent so individuals can sell their own merchandise.
The Brownwood and Early Chambers of Commerce, Early Economic Development Corporation and Tarleton Small Business Development Center will hold a free "Writing a Successful Business Plan Workshop" on August 8th.
The one-hour workshop will be presented by Randy Thomas of the Small Business Development Center and will provide the tools for writing a successful business plan. Thomas said "Rather than attempting to teach everything there is to know about business planning in an hour, we'll take our allotted time to deliver the most important facets of the business planning process , how to create a successful business plan and maximize your funding success, whether starting-up, expanding or needing funding."
