The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their 2017 Annual Chamber Banquet on April 13, 2017. The celebration will be held in the Brownwood Coliseum with the reception at 6:00 PM, dinner at 6:30 PM and the awards presentation slated to begin about 7:00 PM.

Community Service Awards will be presented during the banquet including Stuart Coleman Good Neighbors, Community Partner, Business of the Year, Man and Woman of the Year and the Groner Pitts "Lifetime of Service" Award.

The luncheon will be held at the Brownwood Country Club on Friday, March 17th. Buffet lunch opens at 11:30 AM and the program will begin at noon.

CrossCountry600The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on January 19th for the Grand Opening of Cross Country Health Center's new activity area for Alzheimer's patients.

Cross Country Health Center staff is dedicated to providing love and attention to each resident allowing them to maintain their freedom and be a part of a community and family. Introducing "Eden" a safe haven specifically designed to enhance the lives of residents.

The new rooms provide safe activities that give residents the opportunity to engage in all types of sensory experiences such as visual, auditory and tactile in our life stations. These life stations consist of a nursery, kitchen, secretary, construction, automotive, and music section.

Brownwood Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting for Good Samaritan Ministries Resale Store

GoodSam600The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on January 9th for the renovation of Good Samaritan's resale store.

The Resale Store was founded on the principal that everyone deserves dignity, and that meant offering quality, gently-used items for low prices. It has recently been renovated to make customers feel comfortable while shopping and easily find what they are looking for. In addition to selling items, people in need can be eligible to receive a voucher for clothing items they need, but can't afford. They give blankets to those who need them, and any item that can't be sold are donated to one of two charities who give the items new homes in a variety of places. Every item donated is used or made into something new and reused.

5th Annual Brownwood Area Bridal Fair to be Held Saturday, January 21st

bridalfairpromopic600The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their 5th annual Brownwood Area Bridal Fair on Saturday, January 21st at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center in Brownwood.

The fair will host a variety of vendors and will be a resource for soon-to-be brides in planning their special day. Vendors will showcase their products and services and will be available with tips, techniques, and ideas for the perfect wedding. Photographers, florists, DJs, party rental, and venues as well as other businesses are just a few of the types of vendors that will be on hand during the event.

The bridal fair provides an opportunity for future brides to meet with businesses, all in one location, to help assist in planning the big day. Door prize drawings will be taking place throughout the day as well, including a grand prize drawing.

The Brownwood Area Bridal Fair will take place from 11 AM - 2 PM on Saturday, January 21st at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center (600 E. Depot Street). Admission to the show is free.

Beginning at 12:30 PM, participants can enjoy a wine tasting.

Brownwood Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting for Murphy USA

MurphyUSA600The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on December 7th for the newly rebuilt Murphy USA in Brownwood. The new store is located at 403 W Commerce, in front of Wal-Mart.

Murphy USA is a retailer of gasoline and convenience merchandise with more than 1,300 stations located primarily in the Southwest, Southeast and Midwest United States. The company and its team of almost 10,000 employees serve an estimated 1.6 million customers each day through its network of retail gasoline stations in 24 states.

The new Brownwood store opened in August.
