Laura Terhune, Executive Vice-President

 

Laura Terhune grew up in the panhandle of Texas.  After she graduated from Perryton High School, she attended Abilene Christian University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree. 

 

Using her marketing and management skills, Laura has been a professional chamber manager for more than a dozen years with four chambers.  She was named the Executive Director of the Salado Chamber of Commerce in 1991.  In 1996, she accepted the position of President & CEO of the Greater Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, followed by the Lake Granbury Area Chamber of Commerce in 2002.  Laura accepted the position of Executive Vice-President with the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce in July, 2006

Tammi, a native Texan, attended Abilene High School and Hardin-Simmons University.  She moved to Irving and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Minor in Marketing. 

Tammi worked with a national advertising company from 1994 until 2003, helping Chamber of Commerce’s in Texas and Oklahoma broaden their image in their respected cities. In 2003, she started her own marketing company in which she continued working with area Chambers of Commerce and local city officials in promoting their cities. 

In 2004, Tammi married and elected to stay closer to home. She worked for KTAB-TV as an account executive covering the Central Texas area, and in January of 2007, she joined the staff of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Member Services.

A native of San Saba, TX, Emily graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos in 2000.  Prior to moving to Brownwood, she was the Special Events Director for the Texas Recreational Vehicle Association in Austin.  Emily's primary responsibility is to promote tourism and the convention industry in Brownwood, which includes advertising, marketing, event promotion, and event management.  She works with The City of Brownwood, Downtown Brownwood Inc., The Heritage Association, Lake Brownwood CDC, and several other local groups to co-ordinate efforts to make Brownwood a choice destination. 

She has earned her Certification in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation, and is the Chamber's representative for the Texas Association of Convention & Visitor's Bureaus and the Texas Travel Industry Association

Martha Childress  moved from Abilene, Texas to the community of May in Brown County as an elementary student. She is a graduate of May High School. After several years away, she and her family have lived and worked in Brown County off and on since 1990.

Martha has held a variety of positions in her career, always enjoying meeting and working with people. She joined the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce in September 2006 handling Visitors and Information Services.
