The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Early Chamber of Commerce held a joint ribbon cutting on Friday, January 25th to celebrate the new location for Ranger College Cosmetology.

Ranger College Cosmetology students receive hands-on experience similar to working in a full-service salon. This prepares them for a career in the cosmetology industry. The first 160 hours of the program are spent learning the basics and getting personal training from experienced professionals, after which the first clients and mannequins, are introduced.

After the students complete 160 hours of coursework, they begin working in the student salon, getting experience with real clients. With instructor guidance, students shampoo, cut, style, perm, color, apply makeup, and give facials, manicures, and pedicures. Students develop relationships with guests and can even build a clientele. The skills learned at Ranger College Cosmetology are transferable to any beauty environment.
