The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off their 2013 Total Resource Campaign (TRC) on Tuesday at Humphrey Pete’s restaurant. Two teams of volunteers will now begin selling sponsorship opportunities to area business owners to not only help promote local business, but to support the Chamber of Commerce projects and activities.
The two teams are being led by Priscilla Monson and Robert Porter who took the TRC theme of “Lights, Camera, Take Action” to heart as they dressed up at Dolly Parton and the Lone Ranger at the kickoff event. Although the costumes were fun and inspiring to their team members, the captains take the campaign seriously.
“Remember that this is all to support the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce,” said Monson. “If we promote the Chamber, everyone does well.”
The TRC is designed to give Chamber members numerous opportunities to become more involved with the Chamber on various levels through greater public awareness of Chamber programs, projects and events. In addition, the TRC makes it easier for businesses to budget for the coming year and helps improve the efficiency of Chamber-sponsored events.
Volunteers will be contacting local businesses during the seven-week campaign looking for support for these sponsorship opportunities. Volunteers earn prizes as they work through the campaign with an extra bonus for the team that sells the most.
Monson told all of the volunteers at the kickoff that connecting businesses to sponsorship opportunities is easier than they might think.
“We are really selling the programs of the Brownwood Chamber and that makes it easy,” she said.
Through the Total Resource Campaign, the Chamber staff reviews and evaluates current programs and develops a menu of sponsorship opportunities tailored to fit any budget, big or small. Over a seven-week period, beginning February 12th, about 20 local volunteers will work with Chamber members to design an ideal sponsorship plan for the entire year. The TRC is designed to be fun and exciting for team members with rewards available throughout the campaign and grand prizes for winning teams.
Throughout the United States, Total Resource Campaigns are gaining support and popularity among progressive chambers of commerce and have been embraced by chamber members, board leadership and staff because of the beneficial nature of the campaign.
