The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will feature Jim Keffer, Texas House of Representative Dist. 60 as their guest speaker at their monthly luncheon on November 18th. Keffer will give a preview of the next legislative session and have a look back at his career in the Texas House of Representatives for the past 20 years.
The luncheon will be held at the Brownwood Country Club. The buffet lunch begins at 11:30 AM and the program will begin at noon. Buffet lunch costs $14 per person payable to the Brownwood Country Club.
Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Company is the presenting sponsor for this luncheon. Table sponsors include Kindred at Home Home Health, Ranger College, and West Central Wireless/Right Wireless/Mid-Tex Cellular. Brownwood Regional Medical Center is sponsoring the Ace’s Wild Cash Drawing.
In 1997, Keffer became the first Republican to ever represent District 60. And has won overwhelming reelections ever since. He chose not to seek reelection this year.
Jim currently serves as Chairman of the Texas House Committee on Natural Resources. He also serves on the Energy Resources Committee, Redistricting Committee and Texas House Republican Caucus.
A legislative leader in past sessions, Keffer has previously served as chairman of other House committees including: Ways and Means, Economic Development, and the Select Committee on Property Tax Relief.
