Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce

600 E. Depot Street

Brownwood, TX 76801

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Center and The Brownwood Store are located in the Harvey House adjacent to the historic Santa Fe Depot. Located at the intersection of Adams and Depot Street, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Constructed in 1909, the Depot is one of the few remaining in the nation, which has been preserved with its adjoining Harvey House Restaurant.

After undergoing a historical renovation in 1998-99, the Depot Civic and Cultural Center serves the citizens of Brownwood and provides a beautiful meeting site and venue for a variety of events.

The Chamber provides friendly service and a cup of coffee along with information on relocation, business, and recreation in the Brownwood Area. Our hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Fridays.

Housed on the second floor of the Harvey House is a restored Harvey Girl Room, the Gordon Wood Hall of Champions and the Brownwood Economic Development Corporation.

The Margaret & Stuart Coleman Plaza, located outside of the Depot and Harvey House, provides a relaxing green space to read, picnic and visit Brownwood’s iconic “1080 Train,” a 1902 steam locomotive, celebrating back to the railway days of Brownwood. It is one of only nine surviving examples.
