The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting for Sunflour Café located at 1209 Coggin Avenue on Thursday, January 25th, 2024, to celebrate their Grand Opening in a new and spacious suite.

Sunflour Café is the vision and dream of veteran and owner, Stephanie Alvarenga. During her ribbon cutting, attendees were able to hear about her experience when she picked up her first book on international cuisine when she was 17 at a local library. Gaining confidence from her father and sampling the cuisines from every country she visited, she worked with interpreters to gather recipes and develop her skills as a cook.

This honors graduate from Escoffier School of Culinary Arts decided to bring her talents to our community and raise her family. Sunflour Cafe offers a wide selection of appetizers from Chicken Salad Croissants, Korean Bulgogi Tacos, and the very popular Korean Loaded Spicy Ramen. The Cafe also offers Sunburst Energy Drinks at their new drive-through window, featuring fun names like Pretty in Pink, Palm Breeze, and Sunflour. They’re made with natural green coffee bean extract that, Stephanie says, “offers the same caffeine content as one cup of coffee, without a caffeine crash later on.” Sunflour Café is available for catering and accepts non-perishable, unexpired items for an on-site food pantry.

Sunflour Café is open Tuesday through Friday 11am-2pm. Be sure to follow Stephanie at Sunflour Café on Facebook for weekly menu specials and events. To check their menu, visit www.sunflourcafebrownwood.com where you can also place your order for pickup at 325-641-5131.
