Genealogical RC 450The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, June 10th to welcome the Pecan Valley Genealogical Society to its membership.

This local History and Genealogy Library, a branch of the Brownwood Public Library, provides the community with genealogical, literary and educational services that promote and stimulate interest in history through family research. They assist visitors with family research, conduct educational programs and disseminate information to the public pointing out the importance of history, tradition, family knowledge and pride. The Pecan Valley Genealogical Society collection is comprised of local, regional, and national genealogical data that is available to assist the public with research, as well as preserve genealogical data and vital public records of Brown County and the surrounding areas.
