Leadership Brownwood: Local Government

Leadership Brownwood class stopped by City Hall to learn about the workings of local government. Mayor Stephen Haynes, pictured above, led the local government segment providing insight on the role of the City of Brownwood. The class was also able to tour the Brown County Courthouse and witness civil courtroom proceedings.

Leadership Brownwood began in the mid-80’s by the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce as a community leadership development program. The program is dedicated to educating, developing, and empowering current and future leaders for the community and motivating them to serve civic, charitable, and business organizations. The insights participants gain as they explore the inner workings of the community serves as a foundation for their long-term involvement in Brownwood in a variety of leadership roles.

The current Leadership Brownwood class consists of 29 professionals representing 3M, Ann Jones Real Estate, Boys & Girls Club of Brown County, Brownwood ISD, Center for Life Resources, Central Texas Farm Credit, Chick-fil-A Brownwood, City of Brownwood, Clear Path Home Care, Hendrick Medical Center, Howard Payne University, Landmark Life, Luna Maya, MCBank, R. B. Rogers House, Texas Tech University @ Brownwood, TexasBank, TSTC, West Texas Fire Extinguisher/City Janitorial Supply, and Western Bank.
